Over at the central Klang Valley of Malaysia, the Nokia arm of the country put out booths to collect cell phones in four parts of the region as part of a six-month pilot run. In a first for Nokia, these booths called Integrated Nokia Kiosks (INK) are touch screen machines where people can drop off old phones for recycling and broken phones for servicing. All everyone has to do is follow the instructions on the touch screen panel and leave their and their phone's details for speedy processing later, especially for those reclaiming their devices back after being serviced.

As an added bonus, Nokia will plant one tree for every customer services through the NEWtrees Initiative that aims to plant 100,000 trees in Sebangau National Park in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The project was initiated to find a possible solution to the study that a huge percentage of cell phone users don't know that their devices can be recycled.
